So, lets try this pattern again....

Do you remember my first post, the black and white spotty dress I made that faded the minute I washed it, well I thought I'd give it another go. This time, I washed the fabric first....

It has always amazed me how you can find a really lovely fabric (or piece of clothing for that matter) that looks so bright and vibrant, yet the minute you wash it the colour fades dramatically. So, based on previous experience I'd learnt my lesson, now washed and ready to go is this gorgeous floral material.

I'm not great at choosing fabric as I do still pick something based on price rather than design, I'm so conscious of mucking something up that I don't want to lose a fortune in doing so. Though I saw this material and thought, though a little expensive, it would be lovely for the dress I'd previously made and I have a fab pair of shoes that will go well with it.

So back I went to making this dress, also I have hindsight to help so anything I did wrong last time, I should hopefully avoid second time around.

My husband wasn't a fan of the floral but did like the bright pink colour, and to be fair to me, he wasn't going to be wearing it, I was!

This time around I took my time, finished all the edges as neatly as I could, my zip and line ups were on point, it was (if I do say so myself) a bloody good job.

Using the tailors dummy made life so much easier, holding pieces in place and making sure it fit where it was supposed to, and was the right length made all the difference when it came to trying on, it fit perfectly.

Now, all I need is lock down to end and a party to wear it too!
